Ingredients Needed:
MWP-100% Real Soap Frosting
Powder Colorant
1 Teaspoon of Fragrance/Essential Oil per every "4 ounces" of MWP or follow manufacturer's recommended rate.
4 Ounces = 1 Teaspoon
8 Ounces = 2 Teaspoons
12 Ounces = 3 Teaspoons
16 ounces = 4 Teaspoons
Equipment Needed:
Scale
Microwave Oven
12-inch or larger, Piping/Pastry Bag or Decorator Pro – (I prefer using a Silicone Piping Bag)
Laser Digital Thermometer
Hand Mixer with Whisk Attachment or Stand Mixer
4-cup Plastic Mixing Cup or Plastic Bowl (Glass is NOT recommended)
Spatula
Directions:
Prepare your Piping bag, Fragrance Oil/Essential Oil, and Colorant ahead of time.
Add your colorant to your MWP 100% Real Soap Frosting before placing in the microwave. Melt in the microwave at 20-second intervals or until your mix reaches approximately 190-200 degrees. Remember to stir each time after removing from the microwave so you may get the true and correct temperature.
Note: To melt 4 ounces in my 1000-watt microwave it takes approximately 30 seconds.
To melt 8 ounces in my 1000-watt microwave it takes approximately 1 minute. All microwave ovens vary in temperature.
Once your mix has reached approximately 190-200 degrees, remove from the microwave and whip/whisk briskly on low for about 10 seconds or until your mix reaches approximately 145-140 degrees.
Next, stir in your Fragrance Oil/Essential Oil with your spatula.
Note: You may also mix your Fragrance/Essential Oil with your powder Colorant which produces an even color.
Hand Stir or Whip a few more seconds until your MWP reaches approximately 130-125 degrees. Your frosting should look like Heavy Whipped Cream or Cool Whip (Not runny)
Next, fill your piping bag and pipe away! Do no wait. Yes, it’s that simple! Have fun and be creative!
Please Note: Your MWP – 100% Real Soap Frosting will get hard enough to package within 24-48 hours. It will not get as hard as Bar Soap, but will get soft, but firm to the touch. Please note that temperature and humidity may affect the time it takes to get hard.
Wrap using Saran Wrap or Plastic Wrap. Shrinkwrap along with the use of a Heat Gun is "not" recommended.
Troubleshooting:
Please DO NOT use a glass bowl. Use a Plastic Bowl. A glass bowl gets too hot and may keep your MWP from cooling down as recommended.
You can “remelt” your MWP-100% Real Soap Frosting up to two times. However, remelting may reduce the volume. To remelt newly piped MWP, place entire mix back into the microwave and microwave at 10-second intervals until your mix reaches approximately 140-160 degrees or until it “swells” and gets “fluffy.” Remove from microwave and whip for a few seconds. You may add a teaspoon of water at a time, if needed, to increase volume. Add FO/EO and/or Colorant at 145-140 degrees. Pipe at 120 degrees.
Do "not" sit and wait for your MWP to cool down. This is not Cold Process soap where you wait.
You will get the feel of the correct temperatures and the look, feel, and texture of your MWP soap after a few tries. If you pipe too soon, your piping will relax and lack definition. So try not to rush the process. No, it’s not rocket science, however, learning anything new takes time and patience. So hang in there and keep on Piping!
If your bath bombs are not fully dry, you may need to attach them by using using some MWP or Melt & Pour. To pipe the tops of cured Hot Process Soap or Cold Process Soap or Melt & Pour, you can score the tops of your soap and then spray with rubbing alcohol and then pipe. You may also melt some MWP or use a "dab" of Melt & Pour to act as "glue."
